Trademark registration for startups
DPIIT-recognised startups pay ₹4,500 instead of ₹9,000 in government fee. We file at ₹949 and tell you honestly whether your name will survive examination.
- DPIIT rebate applied
- Founder or company name advised

What founders usually get wrong
- Registering the company name at MCA and assuming the brand is protected. It is not
- Filing after the launch, when a competitor has already applied for the same name
- Choosing a descriptive name that cannot be registered, however good the pitch deck looks
- Not claiming the DPIIT or micro/small enterprise rebate and paying ₹9,000 instead of ₹4,500

Questions
Should the founder or the company own it?
Many founders register personally and licence it to the company, so the mark survives if the company does not. If you have institutional investors, the company usually must own it. Check your term sheet.
When should we file?
Before launch, ideally before you print anything or buy the domain. Filing is cheap; rebranding after traction is not.
Do we need DPIIT recognition first?
Not to file. But if you have it, or micro/small enterprise registration, the government fee halves. Send us the certificate and we apply the lower slab.
File before you launch, not after
Send the name and we will tell you whether it survives examination. If you have DPIIT or micro/small enterprise recognition, the government fee halves.
Invorn Services (OPC) Private Limited is a trademark filing and consultancy service. We are not a law firm and do not guarantee registration. That decision rests with the Trade Marks Registry.
