Questions about trademark fees

How much does trademark registration cost in India in 2026?

A government fee of ₹4,500 per class for individuals, startups and small enterprises, or ₹9,000 for other applicants, when filed online. If you use a filing service, add its professional fee: ₹949 to ₹2,000 at the providers above, usually plus 18% GST. Invorn’s ₹1,299 Search + File for a startup comes to ₹6,032.82 in all.

What is the cheapest way to register a trademark?

Filing it yourself on the IP India portal, where you pay only the government fee. The risk is in the search and the class: a clash with an earlier mark or the wrong class can waste the fee. Among filing services, the lowest published professional fee on 2 October 2026 was Invorn’s ₹949 + GST, which covers filing only.

Who pays ₹4,500 and who pays ₹9,000?

₹4,500 per class applies to individuals, DPIIT-recognised startups and small enterprises. Companies, LLPs and other applicants pay ₹9,000. Filing on paper costs ₹5,000 or ₹10,000.

Is GST charged on trademark registration?

Not on the government fee. On the professional fee, a GST-registered provider charges 18%. Invorn, Corpbiz and IndiaFilings show it as + GST; most other pages don’t say, so ask for the total in writing before you pay.

What is an onboarding fee?

A one-time charge some providers add on top of the professional fee. IndiaFilings charges first-time clients ₹1,200 for preparing Form TM-48 (the authorisation that lets an agent file for you) on e-stamp paper. Invorn charges no onboarding fee.

How often do these prices change?

Often. Several providers show their prices as discounts or run countdown offers. The date at the top of this page shows when we last checked every price.
